How to make Jigar Thanda

  • Step 1: Soak almond gum overnight in 3 cups of water.
  • Step 2: Mix NESTLÉ MILKMAID Mini and NESTLÉ a+ Milk.
  • Step 3: Take a tall glass. Add 1 tbsp of soaked almond gum then top it with nannari syrup crushed ice. Pour the NESTLÉ MILKMAID mixture.
  • Step 4: Top it up with a scoop of icecream and garnish with tutti frutti.
  • Step 5: Serve Chilled

  • Soak badam pisin well in water, as mentioned in the Jigar Thanda recipe, until it plumps up. This softens it for a smooth blend with the milk.
  • Make sure everything is cold before you assemble your drink. Chilled milk and ice cream create the ultimate cool-down experience.
  • Adjust the amount of MILKMAID in your Jigar Thanda recipe as per your preference.
  • Don't go overboard with the syrup. Too much can drown out the other flavours. Aim for a balanced blend of milk, syrup, and toppings for an authentic taste.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of cardamom or a scoop of chocolate syrup for a twist.
  • Top your Jigar Thanda with chopped nuts, raisins, or sabja seeds for an extra treat.
  • Enjoy your Jigar Thanda fresh to experience the creamy ice cream and refreshing flavours.

1. What does Jigar Thanda taste like?

2. What kind of milk should I use in my Jigar Thanda recipe?

For traditional Jigar Thanda, full-fat milk is ideal, preferably buffalo milk for a richer taste. But you can also use whole cow's milk or a lighter option like skim or low-fat milk.

3. What's the difference between Jigar Thanda and Falooda?

Both Jigar Thanda and Falooda are cold Indian desserts. Falooda typically has a wider variety of ingredients like vermicelli noodles, chia seeds, and rose water, while Jigar Thanda focuses on the unique combination of badam pisin, nannari syrup, condensed milk, and ice cream.
