How to make Wheat Flour Apple Cake
For Crumble
- Step 1: Combine everything in a food processor or with the help of your hands till sand-like texture.
- Step 2: Grease the baking tin with oil & line it with butter paper in which you are going to bake the crumble.
- Step 3: Put the crumble in the prepared baking tin & chill it for some time in the fridge.
- Step 4: Once chilled, bake it at 170°C for about 20-25 minutes or till its golden brown from top. Take it out & let it cool in the baking tin itself.
Note: This will be our base layer.
For Apple Cake
- Step 1: Sift all the dry ingredients together.
- Step 2: Now, add in soft butter, Nestlé MILKMAID, water, vanilla essence, and grated apple. Whisk everything together till its lumps free.
- Step 3: Pour the batter on to the baked crumble.
- Step 4: Just tap the baking tin on the table to let the batter settle in well with the crumble.
- Step 5: Bake this in the oven at 180°C for about 30-40 mins or until it passes the toothpick test.
- Step 6: Take it out of the oven & after 2-3 minutes demould it.
- Step 7: Place the cake on a platter or cake board.
For Dulche De Leche Frosting
- Step 1: Take an unopened can of Nestlé MILKMAID. Place it inside the pressure cooker & fill it with water till the top of the can. Make sure the water level is above the can.
- Step 2: Remove the whistle & close the lid. Place it over the stove on low heat for about 1-1½ hours.
- Step 3: Once done switch off the flame & take out the lid of the pressure cooker & let it cool down for 30 minutes.
- Step 4: Carefully open the lid of the Nestlé MILKMAID, and the Dulche de Leche is ready.
- Step 5: Mix coffee & hot water to dilute the coffee powder.
- Step 6: Take about ½ cup of Dulche de Leche, and with the help of beater just whip it a little.
- Step 7: Now add ½ cup or more of whipped cream to Dulche de Leche and fold in with the spatula.
- Step 8: Add in diluted coffee & mix it well.
- Step 9: The frosting is ready to be used.
- Step 10: Spread a layer of frosting on top of the cake & garnish it with fresh flowers or apple slices or anything you wish to.
- Step 11: Note: You can adjust the sweetness of the frosting by adding more or less of whipped cream in it.
