Chocolate Sweet Pongal Recipe


  • 1 tinNestlé MILKMAID
  • 8 tbspNestlé Everyday Ghee
  • 1 cupRice
  • 4 tbspMoong Dal
  • 1/2 cupJaggery
  • 3½ cupWater
  • 6 tbspCocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cupRoasted Cashewnuts
  • 1/4 cupRoasted Raisins

How to make Chocolate Sweet Pongal

  • Step 1: Soak moong dal & rice in water for about 2-3 hours. Then drain off the water and wash them properly.
  • Step 2: Now, add 2.5 cups of water in a saucepan along with the soaked rice and dal. Mix well. Simmer until cooked and the water has evaporated.
  • Step 3: Meanwhile, prepare the jaggery syrup in a pan, add the jaggery and 1 cup of water. Cook on low flame till the jaggery dissolves. 
  • Step 4: Pour this jaggery syrup in the cooked rice & dal mixture along with ghee, cocoa powder and Nestlé MILKMAID. Mix and cook for about 5 minutes. 
  • Step 5: Add in the roasted raisins & cashew nuts, and mix. 
  • Step 6: Serve hot & enjoy!
