Ingredients for Torte Cake

For Eggless Chocolate Sponge

  • ½ Tin Nestlé MILKMAID
  • ¼ Cup Melted Butter
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • 4 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ Tsp Baking Soda

For Whipped Chocolate Frosting

  • ½ Tin Nestlé MILKMAID
  • ½ Cup Whipping Cream
  • 3 Tbsp Cocoa Powder

For Dark Chocolate Ganache

  • 150 gm Dark Chocolate
  • 75 gm Fresh Cream

For Chocolate Disc

  • 100 gm Milk Chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp Neutral Oil

How to make Torte Cake

Layer 1: Eggless Chocolate Sponge

  • Step 1: In a bowl, add melted butter, milk, and Nestlé MILKMAID. Mix well.
  • Step 2: Then add cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda. Gently fold the batter until there are no lumps.
  • Step 3: Transfer the batter to a 6-inch cake pan and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25 mins or until a skewer inserted in comes out clean.
  • Step 4: Let the cake cool down. Then de-mould it, and add it as the first layer in a 6x3 inches dream cake tin. Set aside.

Layer 2: Whipped Chocolate Frosting

  • Step 1: In a bowl, add whipping cream, cocoa powder and Nestlé MILKMAID. Whip till stiff peaks
  • Step 2: Pipe this frosting over the cake as layer 2 and even it out

Layer 3: Dark Chocolate Ganache

  • Step 1: In a bowl, add roughly chopped dark chocolate.
  • Step 2: Pour warm fresh cream over it. Let it sit at the counter for 2 minutes and mix well. You can also microwave for 30 second intervals till the chocolate melts.
  • Step 3: Whisk till the chocolate has melted and combined with the cream.
  • Step 4: Once the ganache is ready, let it cool down a bit, and pour it over the whipped chocolate frosting as layer 3.
  • Step 5: Refrigerate the tin for at least 4 hours.

Layer 4: Chocolate Disc

  • Step 1: Chop the chocolate roughly. Microwave it for 30 second intervals with 2 tbsp oil till it melts. You can also use the double boiler method for this.
  • Step 2: Once the chocolate has melted completely, pour it over the ganache as layer 4.
  • Step 3: Refrigerate for 1 hour again.

Layer 5: Dusting of Cocoa Powder

  • Step 1: Dust some cocoa powder and our Torte cake is ready!
