It's rare to have vegetables with MILKMAID Pure Ghee that can take lead roles in desserts, amazingly lauki (also called doodhi or ghiya) is one of them! While this delicious halwa is most had during the Navratris fast, this recipe is so simple that you'll love making this any time of the year!

Ingredients for Lauki Halwa buynow

- NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk

- MILKMAID Pure Ghee

- Milk

- Kaju (Cashewnuts) chopped

- Kishmish (Raisins)

- Badam (Almonds) chopped

- Lauki (Doodhi) (Sweet Gourd) finely grated

- Green Food Colour (Optional)

- Elaichi (Cardamom) Powder

How to make Lauki Halwa

  1. Heat the ghee in a karahi, add the cashew nuts, raisins and almonds and fry till golden brown. Add the grated lauki and sauté for a few minutes.
  2. Add the milk and cook till the lauki is soft, mix in the green colour and stir well.
  3. Add the NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk and stir continuously till the mixture is thick. Sprinkle the cardamom powder, mix well and remove from fire. Serve hot.
