Date Shortbread Recipe

These chewy, fudge, orangey, nutty tray bakes are typically American in nature. All you need is very few ingredients and you have a very easy, very desirable dessert in front of you. Ingredients for Date Shortbread

3/4 cup (100 g)
NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 cups
Dates Chopped
1/2 cup (75 ml)
Milk
3/4 cup (75g)
Maida (Flour)
3 tbsp
Powdered Sugar
50gm
Butter
1
Eggs
1 tsp
Orange Peel Grated
1 tsp
Vanilla Essence
1 cup
Mixed Dried Fruits Chopped

How to make Date Shortbread

  • Preheat oven to 1800 C. In a bowl combine maida and sugar, cut in the butter and rub into the maida with the finger tips till it resembles bread crumbs.Press onto the bottom of an 8x8 inch-baking pan, place in the hot oven and bake for 10 – 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile in a bowl lightly beat the egg, stir in the NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk, orange peel and vanilla essence. Add the chopped dates and nuts.
  • Spread this mixture over the baked crust and bake for another 20 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool and cut into bars.
